In July 2005, Mr. Hartmann gave the exclusive rights to his many years of research and investigation work into the glass marks and signatures on glass between 1600 and 2005 to Xtranet GmbH, for publishing on the Internet. Xtranet GmbH will make Hartmann's work globally accessible on the Internet in two languages, namely in German and English.

The user of this Internet application will obtain easy access to stored information and new research opportunities, via the computer-supported search and reference functions.

We will proceed at the beginning of March 2006 with the glass marks from the years 1600 to 1945 (around 7,000 marks and 3,000 companies/artists).

On 9.8.2006 the considerably more extensive part of the glass marks work, from 1945 to 2005 (9,000 marks, 8,000 companies/artists)followed, which will appropriately fill the gap in the glass mark history, in particular, with the studio glass movement and it's artists and manufacturers.

All visitors to our website have free access to the glass mark search facility (excluding reference to company), the glossary, and the museum and literature lists.

All information relating to companies and artists, and their relationships to marks and signatures, are cost-based.

As a Limited-Access User (see product and ordering information) you receive access to the marks/symbols/signatures identification, i.e. you can use a defined limited number of accesses to determine the company/artist associated with marks/symbols/signatures that are found.

As a Premium User (see product and ordering information) you receive for one year access to all the information about marks/symbols/signatures and companies/artists contained in our data bases.

We are hoping that this application will not only be developed for the standard of professional collectors, traders, museums and auction houses, but we are also hoping that it will offer a deeper insight into the subject, to all those people, who are interested in glass.
